Each year, the Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging opens it's doors to host a high-powered gathering of leaders across our state's aging sector. All were welcome to register for this special statewide convening.

12:30 - Policy Panel: Aging in the 2024 Legislative Session

A panel discussion exploring the major factors shaping our state's legislative environment. Look back with us at what needs fixing from the 2023 Legislative Session, emerging public opinions on aging, the impacts of the next election season, and what lies ahead for aging in the 2024 Legislative Session. Moderator: PATTI CULLEN, President and CEO, Care Providers of Minnesota. Panelists include The Honorable GINNY KLEVORN, State Representative and Chair, Legislative Task Force on Aging, BARB HALEY, former Minnesota State Representative and Healthcare Policy Leader, and NATASHA MERZ, Assistant Commissioner, Aging and Disability Services, Minnesota Department of Human Services.


1:15 - Community Forum: Statewide Policy Solutions

An open forum open for all leaders across the sector to share on policy efforts underway - from legislative agenda priorities to feedback on priorities for the Legislative Task Force on Aging.

 

1:45 - Minnesota's Reframing Aging Initiative

Learn how you can be part of a new statewide initiative in 2024 powered by the National Center to Reframe Aging to engage our state. RAJEAN MOONE, LTC Administration Faculty Director and Associate Director for Policy, Center for Healthy Aging and Innovation, University of Minnesota; ADAM SUOMALA, Executive Director, MN Leadership Council on Aging and others.

CEUs

Application has been approved for a total of four (4) hours by the Minnesota Board of Executives for Long Term Services and Supports (approval code MN24-078 2023) and is designed to meet the CEU approval criteria for the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging is an approved provider of continuing education by the Minnesota Board of Social Work (CEP-885). Participants can earn up to four (4) CEUs by attending this event.

All cancellations needed to be made via email to adam@mnlcoa.org and are subject to a $20 processing fee. No refunds for cancellations made after November 27, 2023 or for no-shows. Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging reserves the right to cancel this event.

Recordings of this program will not be available.
