A Seat at the Table

Membership is by invitation-only. Interested organizations are asked to complete a Membership Application along with additional questions and meetings with our leadership.

We take into consideration several application factors, including:

• our Council's value of diversity and strategic composition,
• connection to our Strategic Priorities and Mission, and
• any inherent conflicts (financial, logistical, etc.).

All our members annually affirm the following assurances:

• We have a connection to the mission and focus areas;
• We commit to attend quarterly Council meetings, Committee meetings, and other events;
• We have a delegate with the authority to commit to initiatives
• We are Minnesota-based;
• We have a significant commitment to aging;
• We operate statewide or are willing to take action/embrace statewide issues;
• We are able to pay dues based on our revenue; and
• We are a non-profit organization or membership organization whose members are primarily non-profit organizations.

If preliminarily approved, recommendation for membership is made to the full Council. Only the full Council can elect members, based on a majority vote. Decisions by the Council are final. Applicants will be notified if their application received approval from the Council by the Executive Director. Organizations not invited to become a member will be notified of the reason and are not precluded from making future application.
